Rock veterans and mainstays Kix brought their straight up classic rock production to the Rocklahoma mainstage on the third day of Rocklahoma 2009. Its rather hard to believe the band started in 1977 and continues to bring the same level of energy and performance 30 years later. Younger bands should pay attention…they still blow you away.

In stark contrast to their 2008 performance during a torrential downpour shooting this set was in the most glorious light of day in the golden setting sun with reasonable balance between ambient and stage lighting. The Nikon 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 continued their mainstage duties throughout the set.

Thanks Mark. I am really digging the Rockeyes shots and more formal reviews as well. Good work.
Wow. Wish I were there. The band looks unbelievable even though I heard it was 111 degrees that day in OK. Hope they come to NY soon!
Thank you Nancy. The heat was indeed brutal, but Kix never skipped a beat. Amazing performance to cover. These guys just get better and better.

Thanks much for the note. KIX still bring it as hard as they ever did and are a blast to cover! I’m a fan of your work as well – as in “Fighting for the Earth” :-). Didn’t we meet briefly backstage at Rocklahoma?
