Bullet For My Valentine

Welsh metalcore rockers Bullet For My Valentine kick off the main stage of Mayhem Fest 2009 with a wall of Mesa Boogie sound, exploding riffs, and soaring vocals.

This was an excellent set to shoot as the amphitheater reserved seating area is covered which provided for great shooting conditions for the stage lighting given the 6PM time of day. BFMV’s stage is heavily adorned in black and in stark contrast to the largely white stage lighting. The pit at this venue runs the full length of the stage and approximately 4 ft deep. The only real obstacle is a 6 ft stage height and the added height of stage front monitors. Given the height of the stage and the proximity of the pit to the stage, I utilized the Nikon 14-24 2.8 and 24-70 2.8 exclusively.
