Tonight, Venice Beach’s colorful and charismatic Harry Perry stopped by for a surprise visit to the ATL.
Networking is an amazing thing. I received a call just a few days ago by a longtime friend that The Harry Perry Band was coming to town and would I be interested in some promo and live shots. Certainly! So this morning I threw the gig bag and a single flash in the truck and met the band at Smith’s Old Bar at 7PM. Following soundcheck we had approximately 5 minutes to pull together some shots in the back Alley before the performance began. A great show, and a great ad hoc promo shoot. Wonderful subjects to work with.
Promo shooting was a single Nikon SB-800 boomed by innocent bystander come photog assistant Will (Thanks Will!). Off camera of course and controlled by the SU-800 on the Nikon D700 by NIkon’s wonderful CLS system. Performance shots where the standard for shoot in Smith’s Old Bar Atlanta room – No flash, ISO 6400 – 12800, F2.8, and variable shutter. This is pushing to the absolute camera and photographer limits folks. Good Stuff ™ resulted.
