California’s Future’s End kick’s off the Progpower USA X showcase in their first live performance as a band delivering a set of progressive compositions from their debut album. Attendees were treated to guest vocal appearances by Lance King and Chris Salinas during the set which added to the delivery of the performance.
Shooting was the second most challenging set of the festival. All bands choose to participate in the DVD this year, so lighting was expected to be glorious. The first set was an opportunity to tweak the lighting and work out the various “dark” spots with the LD and the video crew. (Note: Its great to befriend the video crew and have an ear to the LD on hand.) In an attempt to keep shutter speeds above 1/200, ISO’s ranged from 5000-6400 and pushed upwards of another stop in post at times.
