San Diego’s Power Metalers Cage kicked of the first day of Progpower USA X with ferocious intensity.

Shooting conditions where nearly ideal for this set with the first day of Progpower US X again improving in lighing with a little more contrast between front and rear lighting providing for a nice stage balance of colorful ambient and backlighting with a more heavy handed (and white balance friendly) wash of white front lighting. Extreme front and side stage shooting still provided some challenging spots into the ISO6400 range, though generally shooting remained around 3200ISO, +/- half a stop.

Allen,
These guys somewhat impressed when I shot them in Brooklyn, NY last week. I wish I had lighting that was 10% of what you had but sadly every shot looked like the “green manalishi” without the two-pronged crown!!! LOL

Hey Mark! Yeah, it was a good show. Lighting was pretty up there (3200 ISO+ up to ISO6400) @ F.28 trying to keep shutter at 1/200 or above. I had the luxury of shooting the whole set, which helped.
