Germany’s power metal veterans Brainstorm deliver a respectable set co-headlining day 2 of Progpower USA X. Attention was largely paid to Andy B. Frank, whom IMHO, is one of the great frontmen of this genre and the only artist to enter the crowd during the festival. Let’s hope his band Symphorce lands a slot in the showcase next year (hint, hint).
Lighting was relatively fixed around 3200 ISO, F2.8, 1/200th. Shooting was challenging with Andy B. Frank’s rapid and unpredictable movements on stage. Guitarists stayed relatively fixed rarely deviating from positions 5-10 feet from front of stage with eyes continually focused on fretboards :(.
