Train stops in Atlanta in support of their 5th studio album “Save Me, San Francisco” delivering an impeccable set covering their 15 year career.
Landing somewhere between rock band and contemporary adult artists, Train performed a nearly 2 hour set of straight up rock, laid back contemporary passages, and old school classic rock covers to the diverse and adoring crowd.

Shooting was rather grand for the venue with lead vocalist Patrick Monahan making full use of the expansive stage with a contrasty follow spot highlighting stage front action as the stage was bathed in hues of red, blue, and purple. Standard 3 and out with duties shared by the Nikon D700 twins and their mounted 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8’s respectively. Lighting remained relatively constant at 2000 ISO with shutter and aperture varied to control stopping power and depth of field.

Cool shots. I like Train a lot. Did you ever hear Pat Monahan’s hard rock band before he was in Train? They sound like they could have played a side stage at Rocklahoma!!! LOL
Thanks Mark. They are really a killer live band and Pat teaches school on stage presence and artist interaction. Tons o’ fun to shoot if you can keep up with him!
