Swedish death metalcorish Dark Tranquility delivered an abusive set of their largely singular style – death, melodic, power, repeat.
The formula works for the consistently touring band on the road yet again to support their 9th studio release “Into The Void” while supporting Killswitch Engage on their first headlining tour.

Shooting conditions were dark and a tad bit blue ;-). Entirely backlit the entire shooting time, I relied heavily on the Nikon D700’s amazing AF ability in low light and shot at a relatively constant 1/200 3.2 3200ISO. I tend to underexpose slightly in situations like this so as not to blow out the blue channel. The shutter remained relatively high to stop the fast paced action on stage. As I couldn’t see faces at all with my eyes, much less through the VF, I relied on general artist motions during moments when the blue blacklights would flare offering a bit of wrap as well as facial reflection from the the crowd back onto the artist.
