Canada’s Three Days Grace delivers an abundant set both visually and audibly leaving no hit unturned and no fan unsatisfied.
Following excellent performances by Flyleaf and Breaking Benjamin, headliner Three Days Grace took the stage to deliver a set filled with 3 albums of modern rock goodness backed by an exceptional stage presentation and consistent crowd interaction.

The capacity crowd at James Brown Amphitheater was treated to a best of performance of the bands catalog including “Riot”, “Animal I’ve Become”, and “Pain”, while delivering songs from the new album including “The Good Life”, “Break”, and “Life Starts Now”.

Highlights of the set included a spectacular solo by drummer Neil Sanderson, and an in crowd sing along of Apocalyptica’s “I Don’t Care” led from the crowd by frontman Adam Gontier, and a cover of Phil Collin’s “In the Air Tonight”.
The set ended with crowd favorites “Just Like You” and “Animal I have become” leaving this photographer grateful for both the shooting conditions and a well played live performance demonstrating the reason for the bands continued rise in modern rock.

Three Days Grace turned on the concert photographer goodness with their perfectly balanced and contrasty lighting treatment during the first 3 of their set. Coupled with pyro and plenty of stage front crowd interaction shooting was brilliant and easily handled by the Nikon D700 twins with the 14-24 and 24-70 2.8 respectively. To give an idea of stage height, I am 5′ 10″, the last shot above was a hail mary overhead shot with arms fully extended vertically.

Great work
Thanks Derek! Yes, hats are always in issue with the shadows – but I wear one myself. Keeps me from having to carry a comb ;-).
