Jamey Johnson kicks off the 2010 Rowdy Friends tour with a live performance consistent with his hit “Somewhere between Jennings and Jones”.
With a casual and transparent performance, Johnson immediately connected with the audience delivering a set featuring a mix of hits and deeper album cuts from his 2008 release “The Lonesome Song”. The set additionally included a few song selections from his forthcoming release “The Guitar Song” including “Can’t Cash My Checks” and “Back to Macon” which were well received by the audience.

Shooting country artists, restrictions are generally two songs – songs 2 and 3. One misses shooting the “grand entrance” with these restrictions though you do have the opportunity to contemplate the lighting treatment and artist movement. Jamey’s set was songs 2 and 3 with each being slower paced numbers and the artist staying close to the mike. The set was reasonably lit with ambient lighting in warm hues with exposures remaining relatively constant at 1/200 2.8 ISO4000.
