Twisted Sister headline the Main Stage to close out Day 1 of the inaugural Rock N America festival.
Twisted Sister have revised wardrobe and setlist from the last few years of Stay Hungry anniversary attire and returned to more of their traditional street look from before and after the same period. This was a welcome addition to both shooting and performance.

Shooting Notes:
The headlining set for any festival I have covered brings an interesting and predictable phenomena. The photographers one spends the entire day sweating it out with in the pit and press conferences suddenly quadruple. This headlining set would be no different as my closest 12 friends for 3 days suddenly became 40+ … all credentialed and many sans camera. As such, this severely limits pit mobility and varied shooting angles of any sort. I decided on a position slightly house right due to Dee favoring a right handed mike and secured both the pit floor and step up from this position to give at least 2 shooting angles. The band proper tend to remain relatively stoic compared to the full on spectacle of Dee Snider making this positioning a good choice. Exposures dialed in @ a consistent 1/200 F2.8 ISO3200 for the band and 1/400 F2.8 ISO1600 in the follow spots. Kudos to AJ Pero who always remembers and is always genuine.
