Mastodon

Kicking off the Blackdiamondskye tour with the Deftones and Alice In Chains, Atlanta’s own Mastodon delivers a staunch and hypnotic set for the hometown crowd.

Shooting Notes:

Shooting for the group was the first three. As Mastodon tends to favor low atmospheric lightning with heavy use of LEDs it was a treat to shoot them while there was still daylight making its way under the canopy of the amphitheater. Of course, additional challenges applied. 6′ stage, another 8″ of monitors across stage front, and the bands setup positioned at stage front made for challenging shooting angles for the mid and long zooms. Exposures fell @ 1/200 F2.8 ISO5000 +/- one stop.
