Mob Rules @ Progpower USA XII

German melodic metal band Mob Rules make their US Debut at Progpower USA XII at the Center Stage Theater in Atlanta, Ga.

Photography Notes:

Shooting was of a course a challenge for the energetic set with Klaus and Markus largely dominating stage front. High stage front monitors are always a challenge and become more obtrusive the further the artists move back from stage front. Of course, monitors serve a purpose for the artist in allowing them to hear themselves. For photographers, we are always hoping for the Steve Harris style foot-plant. Exposures fell about 1/200 F2.8 ISO6400. Just off stage front the lighting fell to darkness necessitating a tad bit of fill flash with exposures at 1/40 F4 ISO1600 or so balancing stage lighting and flash on the fly with Nikon SB-800 at about 1/128 power.
