On Saturday, February 5th 1983 I attended my first live concert at the Omni in Atlanta Georgia. In many ways that concert set in motion a lifelong love of live music performance that in the last 10 years would join a passion for photography.
That first concert was REO Speedwagon w/ special guest Red Rider. 29 years later REO Speedwagon are performing just as well (if not better) than they did then.

Photography Notes:
A great set with the classic rock legends. Shooting was allowed for the first 4 songs with glorious production and plenty of great moments to cpature. We remained in a small tight pit stage front for the shooting interval though I did deviate from the plan a bit and follow guitarist Dave Amato on a trip to house right and Kevin Cronin to house left. Lighting could not have been more ideal nicely – nicely balanced and contrasty coming in at around 1/400 F3.2 ISO1250. Shooting duties fell to the Nikon D700 pair with the 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 and a few appearances by the 14-24 2.8.
The 4 song limit also allowed some luxury to cover drummer Bryan Hitt properly.
