Styx: Midwest Rock N Roll Express 2012

Styx headline one of the summer’s hottest tour packages as the Midwest Rock N Roll Express stop at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater/Encore Park in Alpharetta, Ga.

Photography Notes:

Always a pleasure to shoot, Styx performances are lit like it’s your birthday! The artists as well seemingly ensure stage front posing of all combinations during the limits of the first three songs all the while accompanied by glorious production. The challenge of this night was a tight pit of photographers limited to a single file area approximately 20 feet long at dead center stage. This limited shooting angles and required patience for the artists to pass or mug at stage front and center – which they were gracious to do for the media. Nikon D700′s and the 24-70 2.8 and 14-24 2.8 handled capture duties.
